In Chapter 29 on Rashid Jogee, in an interview with Polly Savage, Jogee told her: “During the white conservative Rhodesian government, a Jewish lawyer, Marshall Baron (1934-1977) was making these abstract paintings. People were shocked, horrified. He was like a guru. I used to visit him in his studio. It wasn’t a normal space, it was electrified, animated. You floated in Marshall’s space when you painted. You don’t see art like that; you feel it welling up in your chest. ….. I feel as if I want to drop, like I could fall. He’s brilliant.
